Meet the Instructors/Owners/Trainers

We are mothers, teachers, and former athletic coaches who are passionate about our children, our family, fitness, healthy eating and balanced lifestyle. We remember too well the changes that a "bundle of joy" brings both physically and emotionally, and we believe stroller workout is the best medicine for mommy after baby!  When mom is physically fit, she is happier, which means the family is happier.

Both trainers are certified coaches, have a Pre/Post Natal Exercise Design certification with ACE, and are First Aid and CPR certified thru American Red Cross.

Karin, Abigail, Thomas and Nate

Karin Singrey Hatton is the mother of two boys Nate (7), Thomas (2) and stepmom to Abigail (8). Both she and her husband are teachers at Napa High school.  A Hawaii girl, she reloctated to Napa her senior year of high school and graduated from Vintage High School in 1987. She attended U.C. Davis and received a B.A. in English with a Teaching emphasis. She worked for several years for MCI in San Francisco and then switched careers, enrolled at Chapman University and received her Single Subject Teaching Credential in 1999. Karin coached soccer, track and cross country for Justin Siena, and Napa High School before deciding to focus just on mothering and teaching. She has an absolute love for reading, any kind of physical activity, and the outdoor world. She has become an expert in reading stories aloud, “imagine we are Harry Potter”, wrestlemania, My Little Pony castle games, throwing pitches, and circus trick/superman flying (great for the butt and thighs by the way). Karin deeply appreciates the benefits of fresh air and a strong body and the value of a motivating, nurturing fitness coach.

Co-founder of Stroller Energy in Napa, California and at home mother, Katie added another task to her busy schedule as a household engineer to become a Stroller Instructor. So, why did she want to do this? Physical activity has played a major role in her life since childhood beginning with gymnastics, dance, then soccer, basketball and track. After graduating from high school she attended UC Davis and graduated with a degree in history which evolved into a career as a high school teacher for eight years. She was the girls Varsity Assistant Basketball coach while teaching at Vintage High School. Katie married Jason Aaron in 2001 and knew that children would soon follow and wanted to put her career on hold to raise their children. Five years later they have Jacob, five and Ava, who is 3. Being physically fit is extremely important to her not only as a role model for her children, but for her personal well being. If she’s not happy with how she’s looking and feeling, the whole household is affected. Going to the gym is a challenge as a mom; waiting for dad to get home from work or for family members to watch the kids while she gets a moment to herself, doesn’t always happen. She is very excited that she has found an opportunity to bring her experiences as a teacher, athlete and mom together to be a role model and coach for other moms in the local Napa area. She can not stress enough how important it is to be fit while raising young children.
